So, I'm working on hacking together a rough cut of Episode 41 now. However, I'd like an opinion on something.  I've included the video of the Family Trainer: Rai Rai! Kyonshizu below.  Yes, it's a Family Trainer game based on Chinese hopping vampires.

Listening to the voice overs recorded on the new PC, I've noticed they sound super bass-y.  The low end sounds too loud and distorted compared to earlier recordings. I assume this has something to do with the default settings on the new soundcard and the new speakers.  So I'd appreciated some feedback on the voiceover quality.  Do the lower frequencies sound too heavy and "boomy"?  Does it sound the same as older videos?  Thanks in advance.

Sounds about the same to me on my cheap-ass computer speakers. I'll try my high-end headphones when I get to work. :)
p.s. Chrontendo <3

I've tried it on both my laptop speakers and my headphones.

It's not really noticeable on my laptop speakers, but it is a little boomy and unpleasant on my headphones.

Keep up the great work!

It sounds basically normal. I will say with my earbuds in it does seem to be a bit loud, but nothing turning down the volume a bit wouldn't remedy.

Love the videos!!!

It is slightely noticeable, but nothing that would make it sound unpleasent or anything. These settings are completely okay for Chrontendo imho. It is by far not as much of a difference like between your early episodes, and even that wasn't such a big deal to me... .

If you hadn't mentioned it, i wouldn't have noticed anything. As it is, it sounds slightly different, but not neccesarily bad. Tested on a very expensive set of headphones.

Sounds marginally the same. You're just enjoying a better sound range on your new soundcard. It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Now slap some ping-pong delay on everything and laugh manically!

Audio sounds good on my end.

and while we're on the subject of hopping vampires, have there been any actual worthwhile games heavily featuring jiangshi? or is phantom fighter the closest to that?

It sounds good to me. I don't notice any difference. When I'm trying really hard, my imagination informs me that it sounds very slightly "richer".

No worries here - tested with headphones.

Yeah, different but not bad. Turning down the bass a bit might help but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I at least detect nothing objectionable in the sound quality.

I didn't notice anything too different. If you hadn't said anything, I'd have never known.

Add me to another one in the pile who thinks it sounds just fine. Can't wait for the new episode!

As someone who likes to think he knows a little bit about audio, I wish I could say that I notice a difference, but I just don't. I listened to a bit of the 40th episode with headphones then listened to this clip with the same headphones and volume settings and found no noticeable difference.

Seems about the same to me also. The bass might be slightly heavier, but not super noticeably. Have you checked through your sound card settings? I dual boot XP and 7, and there's certainly some differences sound-wise based mostly on both my SPU's software drivers (manufacturer's config program isn't supported in Win 7 64-bit) and the slightly extended sound options naturally available in 7.

The bass is about the same, but the trout is even more delicious.

I'm sure the whole "Patrol Labor" wording in Patlabor is a typical shortening or contraption of the words to get that name.

Patlabor also had several noted animated movies and an OVA series I think.
