No Excuse, Really

No excuse other than sheer laziness, that is. Maybe that's not entirely true, since I did have a buy a car this week. Oh yes, and a new issue of Ugly Things just hit the racks. That's always a major time killer for me personally. Either way, I'm working on finishing Chrontendo 21 now, so keep an eye out for it in the next few days.

Thanks for the patience.

Hooray! A new episode!

Almana no Kiseki looks intriguing. I don't think I've heard about that one before.

Regarding Majou Densetsu II - I think the Famicom version is superior to the MSX game. The original MSX version is just too mean-spirited and punishing, and I like games that are mean-spirited and punishing. The controls feel stiff and clunky in the MSX game as well.

If only Almana no Kiseki were as good as it sounds on paper.

I'm not sure what the story is on the love for the MSX version of MDII. Presumably, since it was released in Europe, a Western fan base had emerged that doesn't exist for the Famicom version. Nostalgia can certainly cloud judgment (example: Rare's Spectrum games). The controls are a pain, but that's the case with almost every MSX game. I tried playing the MSX version of Salamander a bit for Episode 22. It was not cool.
